Saho (2023), directed by Ariyarathna Athugala, is a Sri Lankan Sinhala feature film that received significant international recognition across several global film festivals and award platforms. The film won the Best Asian Feature Film award at the Golden Leaf International Film Awards in India and earned multiple honors at Italy’s Robinson Film Awards, including Best Film , Best Director, Best Actor for Dasun Pathirana, Best Actress for Dinara Punchihewa, as well as awards for Best Editing and Best Sound. The film was also recognized internationally as an Official Selection at the Cannes Film Festival (Second Round Selection), the UK Lift-off Global Network Film Festival, and the Boden International Film Festival, further establishing Saho as an internationally acknowledged contribution to contemporary Sri Lankan cinema.
